This is the Troubled Teen Industry

In 2020, many millennials turned to YouTube to watch what we thought would be a behind-the-scenes look into the life of Paris Hilton. What we didn’t expect was to learn that, just like thousands of teenagers across this country, Paris endured trauma while living in a “troubled teen” home. Since then, along with Congress, Paris has lobbied to enact laws to regulate the troubled youth facilities as it uses loopholes to get around what some would consider to be cruel punishment against kids.

Regulating the Worst Kind of AI-Generated Content

On September 05, 2023, a bipartisan coalition of all fifty state attorneys general along with four attorneys general from U.S. territories came together to sign a letter to Congress. The letter urged Congress to establish an expert commission to specifically study how artificial intelligence (AI) contributes to the exploitation of children. The attorneys general further stressed the urgency of expanding existing laws on Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) restrictions to include AI-generated content.

The AMLA – Blowing the Whistle on Fraud

Whistleblowing – a powerful weapon in the arsenal of defense against fraud – is a highly effective tool utilized by the government to enforce regulatory compliance. Nevertheless, many employees remain hesitant to initiate criminal proceedings. In 2021, in an effort to dispel such concerns and to empower potential whistleblowers to take action, Congress enacted the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA).
