Crocs and the Importance of their Intellectual Property

We all recognize the brand! Crocs has sold over 850 million pairs of their iconic shoes in over 85 different countries since 2002. Today, Crocs offers numerous models of shoes. However, the company’s success can be attributed to their original clog-style shoe named the “Classic Clog.” The Classic Clog is made from a resin-based material known as Croslite. This material allows the shoe to be durable while offering the user exceptional comfort. These features have led Crocs to market its clog design for use across a variety of applications including boating, gardening, hiking, and even hospital-use.

What is ChatGPT and how does it work?

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence (AI) computer program developed by the San Francisco based company,OpenAI. ChatGPT works by taking a natural language input, which is an input of human language as it is spoken and written, from a user and then producing a natural language output. Essentially, ChatGPT works like a search engine (Google, Bing, Yahoo!, etc.). However, instead of returning a list of websites, ChatGPT returns exactly what you ask it to in a conversational format. As a result, ChatGPT enables a user to receive direct responses to their questions. ChatGPT has received substantial media coverage for its easy-to-use interface and extensive capabilities. A Journey from the Lab to the Office: An Interview with Brad Loren

Brad Loren is an associate at McAndrews Held and Malloy Ltd. (McAndrews).
Prior to attending law school, Brad attended the University of Iowa where he earned a B.A. in Chemistry and Political Science. After earning his undergraduate degrees, Brad attended Purdue University where he earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. Brad’s Ph.D. research focused on pharmaceutical development, specifically organic synthesis and drug delivery. After earning his Ph.D., Brad attended Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he graduated cum laude in 2021.
