Digication Workshop: Making sure you are findable on Digication, GSPS, Handshake, and LoyolaLink
Monday, September 11 @ 4:00PM (Hybrid/Crown Center 200W)
Employers frequently use the Loyola History Department website to find students, but the only way to make yourself available there is by creating and linking your own Digication page to your name. This hybrid workshop is devoted to making yourself visible via Digication. Bring a computer or join us on Zoom and I’ll walk you through the process. We’ll also go over Loyola’s other online platforms in order to make the most of the university’s existing network. The workshop is on Zoom, but if you need a place on campus to join, I’ve reserved Crown 200West (BYO computer).
Historians in The Social Network: How to Actually Use Social Media to Meet People w/ Dr. Nathan Ellstrand and Career Advisor Ashley Meczywor (In-Person)
Monday, September 25 @ 4:00PM (Crown Center 530)
Despite the dubious nature of some social media platforms, they remain necessary tools for building a career as a Historian. Loyola History PhD alum Nathan Ellstrand will share his experience building a professional network through social media, and Career Advisor Ashley Meczywor will give some tips and tricks specific to using LinkedIn.
