Earlier this month, SCPS organized a Dinner and Discussion for gathering feedback from students about their experiences with Online Learning.
The evening was attended by ten enthusiastic students, some of whom joined via Adobe Connect to provide their valuable feedback.
The event was facilitated by Associate Dean Jeanne Widen and Instructional Designer Kelly Barry. It was a great evening that provided a wonderful learning opportunity for us at SCPS, and a platform for students to voice their opinions.
We were very happy to learn which online teaching strategies are working well, and which areas still need improvement.
We want to sincerely thank all of the participants for their constructive and honest feedback. We recognize that gathering regular input from our online students is essential to making excellence in online learning happen.
SCPS endeavors to be certain that our online courses provide the same, high quality content and are taught by the same, high quality faculty as other SCPS courses, and we were pleased to learn that some of the feedback on improvement (such as designing an orientation for online learners) coincides with our strategy for short and long term changes in the online format.
