President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

Loyola was awarded a Presidential Award (from the U.S. President) for community service, service-learning and civic engagement. The School of Education’s Target New Transitions (TNT) program and Math Tutoring program were two of the three community programs highlighted as “Promise Neighborhood Award Recipients.”

Future Educators Helped Paint School

This weekend 80 volunteers (teachers, staff, college students) from the Illinois Education Association (IEA) helped paint and renovate a school in Danville, IL. There were 11 students from Loyola University Chicago in attendance. Loyola had the most students out of any school in Illinois attend!! News Story

Assist in Relief Efforts for Indonesia

Our Indonesian graduate students are selling paintings and other Indonesian items (batik t-shirts, puppets, playing cards, key rings, etc.). The money raised will be sent to their University back home to help existing programs such as providing food, shelter, and trauma healing for children.

Please visit the Terry Student Center, 26 E Pearson (across from Corboy Law Center) on Monday November 22nd and Tuesday November 23rd (10 a.m. – 9 p.m.).
