Paralegal Service Opportunity

Are you interested in taking your paralegal education out into the world and applying course concepts to real world problems? I have a rare opportunity available for paralegal students interested in volunteering their time to the community, learning more about the legal process, and making important connections in the process.  Through this opportunity you will assist private attorneys in criminal defense matters, facilitate fast-paced court calls at the 26th & California courthouse, aid pro bono clients with expungement and document sealing matters, and help with client intake and management.

If you are interested in participating we are asking that you have a minimum 2.5 GPA at Institute for Paralegal Studies, that you have completed your first session of paralegal classes at Loyola, that you have the ability to handle critical matters in a hurried atmosphere, that  you can be thoughtful and empathetic with criminal defense clients, and that you have a professional appearance and demeanor.

Although this is an ongoing opportunity with no end date in site, we are asking that you have the ability to donate one afternoon a week for at least eight weeks. Time slots are available on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday afternoons from 1-4pm.

Step up and lend a hand.
Contact Kelly Barry for more details at KBarry1@luc.edu or call 312-915-6824.
