“Wear the World. Change the World.” Serengetee ambassador, Laura Herrmann, spreads this motto around campus daily. With her killer personal style she rocks Serengetee’s fabrics from around the world. Chicago Style got an inside look into her closet and the fastest growing online fashion boutique she represents.
CS: How would you describe your personal style?
LH: I’m all about feeling confident. For me, that means high neck shirts and loose dresses. I am a strong believer that if you’re not comfortable in your outfit you’re not going to be confident. I would also describe my personal style as versatile. I love to create different outfits with a lot of the same pieces.
CS: Tell us about Serengetee.
LH: Serengetee was started by three college friends during their semester at sea. They visited over 15 countries and decided to start collecting fabrics from where they travelled to. When they returned, they created Serengetee, a company to connect people to the globe through fabric while giving back to the communities that inspire their products. Since their launch in 2012, Serengetee has become one of the fastest growing clothing brands in the world. Their motto is “Wear the World. Change the World.”
CS: What do like about being their brand ambassador?
LH: I love being a brand ambassador! Their clothes are so comfortable and there are so many different fabrics and patterns so everyone can express their individual style. I also love the other brand ambassadors who I have the opportunity to meet, it’s great for networking!
CS: How do you express yourself through fashion?
LH: Through unique clothes that no one has. I live for Nordstrom Rack and finding one of a kind deals. I think expression through fashion has become a staple in our generation.
CS: Do you have any fashion advice for others in finding their own style?
LH: Be adventurous! Make sure to adventure out on weekends and find cute boutiques or go to resale shops! When shopping, make sure that you can picture the shirt, pants, dress, etc. as four different unique outfits, so that you can change your style often with that one piece of clothing!
