Dear Loyola community,
AudienceView Ticketing Corporation (AVTC) is an outside, third-party vendor, which, through its AudienceView Campus platform, provides online ticket sales services for events sponsored by Loyola University Chicago’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts (DFPA).
Late last week, AVTC advised Loyola that AVTC’s Campus Platform had been impacted by a malware incident. AVTC is restricting access to the Campus Platform for security purposes while the investigation continues. AVTC also informed us that as a result of the malware incident, the credit card number, expiration date, and CVV of persons who used AVTC’s Campus Platform to purchase tickets for a DFPA event between February 17, 2023 to February 21, 2023, may have been disclosed in an unauthorized manner.
AVTC is actively investigating the incident and has been taking steps to identify all involved ticket purchasers. AVTC will be providing a written notice to those purchasers. AVTC informed Loyola that its written notice will include an offering of free identity monitoring services.
In advance of AVTC’s written notice, Loyola is providing this notice to alert you to this security incident. If you purchased tickets online for a DFPA event during the February 17, 2023 to February 21, 2023 time period using the AVTC Campus Platform through the link (luc.universitytickets.com) on the DFPA website, Loyola urges you to carefully review your credit card charges for unusual or unfamiliar activity. You may also wish to contact your financial service provider and follow its instructions as to any appropriate additional measures to take.
AVTC also provides ticketing services for events sponsored by Loyola Athletics. However, it does so through a different online platform, which AVTC reports was not impacted by the malware incident.
Although the malware incident involved AVTC’s Campus Platform, and not an internal Loyola platform, the University takes the privacy and security of all members of our campus community seriously, including ticket purchasers. After Loyola received notice of the incident, the University has been in contact with AVTC to confirm the next steps that AVTC will take to address this situation, which Loyola will continue to actively monitor.
The DFPA online ticketing system and events website is not available at the moment, and we are unable to retrieve patron records.
