Phishing Scam – Fraudulent Check Deposit

Posted on: September 8th, 2022 by Christopher Campbell

The text below is from the most recent phishing email we have seen. Scams of this type attempt to trick users into depositing a fraudulent check, and often request some of that money before the fraud is detected by the user’s financial institution. This email (and anything similar) should be deleted right away. If you have any questions about this or any email, please call or email the ITS Service Desk at 773-508-4487 or ITSServiceDesk@luc.edu before you act on the email or as soon as you become suspicious.
