The Latest Phish contains the subject “Send me your available cell number” and is an attempt to get the victim to purchase and send e-gift cards, thinking the requester is legitimate. Once the criminal get the victim’s cell phone number, they respond with a text message asking them to purchase gift cards. A redacted image of the email is below. The email by itself presents no harm to your computer and is a social engineering phish. ITS recommends that you permanently delete the message by selecting the message, holding down the shift key and clicking delete in the ribbon of your outlook application.
