During the end of October and early November 2019, LUC SSW dual degree (MSW/MA) student Aces Lira attended a series of week-long meetings and training for the International Partnership for Queer Youth Resilience (INQYR) in Mexico City. Aces presented on his current work as part of the U.S. region of INQYR and the International Student Training Network (ISTN) with regard to a photo elicitation project examining resilience among transgender and non-binary youth. Below are photos from the week long global partnership meeting and student conference. INQYR is a SSHRC funded global collaborative led by Dr. Shelley Craig at the Factor Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto including regional membership from Canada, the U.S., U.K., and Mexico. Aces is one of two research assistants working on the U.S. regional projects with co-director Dr. Michael Dentato, Associate Professor, LUC/SSW and director, Dr. Ashley Austin, Professor at the School of Social Work at Barry University in Miami Shores, FL with her research assistant, BSW student Josh Holzworth.
