Add to your 2012 career resolutions…

before it’s too late!

A new year can carry a lot of weight with it.  Once the holiday lights are down and you realize exactly how cold Chicago can be in January, it can be hard to stay productive as a student or working professional.  Things don’t get any easier if you’ve been laid off or are looking for a new job.  But that’s why making resolutions and the new year’s chance to have a fresh start can be such a positive influence.  And thankfully, Yahoo is here to help with an entire series on how to “Kick-start Your Career for the New Year.”

My personal favorite of the series is the special report listing 10 career resolutions you can shoot for in 2012, including advice like “Be ethical” (always key for someone getting a Jesuit education), and “Make time for play.”  But other articles include resume advice, tips on boosting your interview skills, and using cyclical trends through the year to aid in your job search.  The series has something to offer any working professional.

So take advantage of the new year and approach your career with the fresh start it deserves.  Who knows, 2012 just might be your year.
