Legal Writing Workshop for Incoming 1L’s

JOIN LOYOLA’S WRITING WORKSHOP!

The School of Law is pleased to offer a small group of incoming first-year students an opportunity to participate in a single session Writing Workshop. Students often find that legal writing requires a very different approach and style from writing they have done in college or post-graduate careers. The Writing Workshop is designed to help students further develop the ability to write clear, well-developed, and logically structured paragraphs and essays necessary for successful legal writing.

The Writing Workshop will consist of one Saturday session meeting from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on August 25. The session is self-contained; all exercises and assignments are taught and completed in the classroom. Current and former adjunct professors in the Loyola Law School Writing Program teach the Workshop.

The Writing Workshop is a no-credit, free of charge amenity offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who register for the Workshop are required to purchase a textbook, Just Writing, 3rd edition, by Enquist and Oates. The text is available at the bookstore. Admitted students should contact Andrea Yelin, Director of the Writing Workshop, at andreayelin@aol.com for a space by August 10, 2012.
