Brief History:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In October 2004, the National Cyber Security Alliance and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security declared October as National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) to spread awareness of cyber security, and to provide all Americans the information needed to stay secure online. \u00a0Since its beginning 11 years ago, the idea and awareness\u00a0has spread to numerous enterprises, universities, the government, and individual home users.<\/p>\n

Organizations such as the National Cyber Security Alliance have been working towards increasing nationwide awareness, and continue every year to provide Americans with the resources necessary to better protect their information when using any type of technology.<\/p>\n

Our Efforts:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 2009, NCSAM’s theme has been “Our Shared Responsibility.” \u00a0With that being said, and due to the fact that Loyola’s technology use and student body continues to grow, the University Information Security Office will be holding three events to spread awareness regarding information security. \u00a0The events will be held:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
