John Orwat and Michael Dentato are in the midst of completing the third year of the\u00a0Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) funded SBIRT@LUC Training Program. A great component of this initiative is an advanced interprofessional certificate known as the CABISAM program, in which social work students collaborate with students from the schools of nursing and medicine.<\/p>\n<h3>What is SBIRT?<\/h3>\n<p>Short for\u00a0<strong>Screening,\u00a0Brief\u00a0Intervention, and\u00a0Referral to\u00a0Treatment\u00a0<\/strong>model and motivational interviewing techniques through classroom and community-based settings across Chicago.
