Group Work: Voices from the Field

Last week the School of Social Work Student Organization (SSWSO) and the International Association for Social Work with Groups (IASWG) co- sponsored Group work: Voices from the Field. The networking event, which showcased how social work groups are being used in educational, health care, community mental health, private practice and substance abuse treatment settings, provided students with the opportunity to meet and engage with experienced group workers in an intimate setting. Images below show students engaging with panelists during the presentation and workshop portions of the event.

Panelists introduced themselves, their field of practice and their agencies or settings. Then the group broke into round table discussions where participants could select the panelist they wanted to speak with. Attendees had opportunities for two rounds of interpersonal interactions.
