From the Loyola Phoenix: Poirier and McDowell win election, students in favor of bottle ban

Juniors Julia Poirier and Sarah McDowell have won the Unified Student Government Association election for president and vice president, according to a statement released by USGA this evening.

The message from USGA read as follows:
“We are pleased to announce the Executive ticket for the 2012-2013 academic year, Julia Poirier and Vice President Sarah McDowell. The new Chief of Student Organizations is Thomas Serena, and Louis Kern is the new Chief Justice.”

Additionally, students voted to ban the sale of bottled water on campus.
According to USGA, 56.7 percent of students were in favor of the ban, and 43.3 percent opposed the ban.
