Newest member of the SCPS team: Udayan Das

Earlier this year, Udayan Das joined the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) as Instructor of Computer Science, with a focus to expand the Information Technology program. Udayan brings with him a rich portfolio, with expertise in the fields of wireless networks, engineering, information science systems, programming, education and teaching methodologies.

Prior to Loyola, Udayan was the Technology Training Manager at ICStars, a non-profit IT workforce development organization. His job profile included curriculum design and delivery as well as mentoring the program participants and graduates. Before ICStars, Udayan was a full-time faculty at DeVry University, Chicago.

Udayan’s professional affiliations include the Jane Addams Resource Corporation (JARC) – a non-profit manufacturing workforce development, as well as ChiCAT (Chicago Center for Arts and Technology) – a non-profit community development and training center. He is also a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, which helps him update his knowledge in the rapidly changing field of IT.

With a passion for workforce development, Udayan found his calling while volunteering in teaching jobs over a decade ago.

“Loyola’s Ignatian Pedagogy and the work that SCPS does with adult learners is particularly appealing to me. The emphasis on experiential learning, service to the community, and recognizing that education is more than just a handover of knowledge; aligns with my mission of enabling adult learners to achieve their educational and career goals.”, says Udayan.

The SCPS team is always eager to have experts like Udayan add their knowledge and proficiency to our program offerings; helping us to continue providing the high standards our students have come to expect of us.

Welcome Udayan!
