SCPS hires new Instructor of Applied Communication

LUCfacultyChristopher (Chris) Martiniano joined the SCPS team in August as a full-time faculty member, leading the Applied Communication program. Chris has wide-ranging experience in the field of communication, copywriting, advertising, marketing, art history and literature.

With a Ph.D. from Indiana University and experience working on marketing and advertising campaigns for industry giants like Coca-Cola, MillerCoors, Bridgestone and Kraft; Chris brings with him the expertise and knowledge that will help grow the Applied Communication program, and result in real-world and applicable learnings for our students.

He has been an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University for over 2 years, and has also worked in Loyola’s University Marketing Communications department, lending his skillset to promote Loyola’s degree offerings.

Chris is motivated to meet the challenges of the new knowledge economy for students in the classroom and hopes to add his proficiency in innovating the educational experience to best suit the needs of the 21st  century, non-traditional students.

He is looking forward to utilizing his corporate experience and align his know-how to Loyola’s mission and goals; specifically to that of the SCPS programs.

“Being a creative director in advertising/marketing is not unlike being a teacher – I see my track moving from the corporate, creative industry to teaching as a fluid one. Both involve creativity, strategy, and research at the highest levels and bringing out the best in your team/your class.”, says Chris.

The SCPS team is eager to grow and continue its support to adult learners, and is looking forward to the fresh perspective and breadth of knowledge that Chris brings.

Welcome Chris!
