As the contemporary world \u2013 and with it, today<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">\u2019s Church \u2013\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">is ever more driven and influenced by content delivered through digital platforms and social media, it is critical that pastoral leaders be skilled in the use of the newest tools for effective evangelization and outreach.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #212121\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #212121\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.luc.edu\/ips\/files\/2014\/12\/Banner_MAPS_Digital_Communication-e1417635001907.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1699 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.luc.edu\/ips\/files\/2014\/12\/Banner_MAPS_Digital_Communication-e1417635080351.jpg\" alt=\"Banner_MAPS_Digital_Communication\" width=\"500\" height=\"205\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.luc.edu\/ips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Banner_MAPS_Digital_Communication-e1417635080351.jpg 500w, https:\/\/blogs.luc.edu\/ips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Banner_MAPS_Digital_Communication-e1417635080351-300x123.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p style=\"color: #212121\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">This degree concentration will allow students to hone their communication skills and learn best practices for using digital media in the dissemination of parish\/congregation\/diocese news, events, and the message of the Gospel in order to reach a wider audience than is possible through, but doesn&#8217;t exclude,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">legacy<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">\u00a0print and broadcast media.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #212121\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">On\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\"><b>February 10, 2015,<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">\u00a0IPS will host\u00a0a launch event featuring a panel discussion\u00a0to introduce and celebrate this new concentration.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #212121\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">After opening remarks from<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\"><b>\u00a0Archbishop Blase Cupich<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">\u00a0(tentatively scheduled), the event will be moderated by\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\"><b>Don Wycliff<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small\">, distinguished journalist in residence at Loyola University Chicago.
