Emily Marogi

This is the story of a girl, who boarded a plane and discovered the world (sung to the tune of 'Absolutely' by Nine Days). Ciao!! My name is Emily Marogi and I am a junior in the Honors Program traveling internationally for the first time to Italy and China as part of the Ricci Scholars program. I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada as the child of Iraqi immigrants, and while I am incredibly familiar with Middle Eastern culture and language, I am only now discovering the nuances of Italian culture. Soon, I will have the joy of doing so in China. Join me as I navigate travel, research, and studies in my new homes.

Stay tuned, ladies and gentlemen for coming longer posts on Brussels, London, and Florence, Nice and Greece. A couple days ago I celebrated my […]

Benvenuti a Roma!

Benvenuti a Roma!

Introduction So, just over a week ago, I boarded my first international flight, saw the following picture on my screen, and sat in disbelief as I realized I would be spending the next four months in Rome. I am still in disbelief. In the span of a week I have seen the Vatican, the Colosseum, […]
