This past weekend was the first weekend\u00a0without any mandatory trips planned, allowing students to\u00a0venture out on their own.\u00a0 Eight other girls and I decided to spend\u00a0our time\u00a0in Florence, Italy.\u00a0 The city was beautiful, and it was such a great trip!\u00a0 We were able to go to the Uffizi Gallery and Accademia Gallery to see a ton of amazing artwork, including\u00a0Michaelangelo’s David statue.\u00a0 We also had the opportunity to climb through a series of extremely steep staircases to the top of “Il Duomo” as the sun was setting.\u00a0 It costed 8 euro\u00a0but was worth every cent.\u00a0 The view was unbelievable and it was interesting to step foot on top of this dome that I learned about extensively in a high school history class years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We stayed at the Hostel Greci, which I would recommend to anyone!\u00a0 It was\u00a0almost\u00a0like a mini-apartment, and\u00a0it was\u00a0much nicer and bigger than I ever expected a hostel could be.\u00a0 There\u00a0was also good food..everywhere.\u00a0 We\u00a0never really planned where we were going to eat, but instead just ate\u00a0at\u00a0whatever restaurant\u00a0was closest when we\u00a0became hungry.\u00a0\u00a0Last, but not least, there was a little marketplace we visited often during our stay where leather and other goods\u00a0were sold.\u00a0 Florence is well known for its leather and there were so many great things to purchase.\u00a0\u00a0After a couple days of touring Florence,\u00a0we ventured back home by train.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
