In recognition of the employment implications of the COVID-19 pandemic, the <em>Journal of Regulatory Compliance<\/em> invites original submissions for publication in our Spring 2021 issue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">The official <em>Journal of Regulatory Compliance<\/em> is a bi-annual digital publication exploring broad themes and challenges facing regulatory compliance from a wide-range of perspectives. The journal seeks to advance the academic dialogue on managing regulatory risk in a commercial enterprise, the experience of the regulated actor, and analysis of regulations in the context of organized efforts to comply with the law.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">The Spring 2021 edition is seeking articles about developments in the regulatory landscape during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We seek manuscripts of broad interest covering policy, regulation, and risk management. These topic areas may include but are not limited to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\"><strong>Workplace Safety<\/strong><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">OSHA guidance and compliance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">State and local orders and guidance<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\"><strong>New Employers\u2019 Obligations <\/strong><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Families First Coronavirus Response Act<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">CARES Act<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\"><strong>Remote Workforce Issues<\/strong><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Department of Labor guidance for remote work compliance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Accommodating high-risk workers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Remote workers\u2019 expense reimbursement, wages and hours, and tax issues<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Reductions in force, furloughs, and other cost-saving measures<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Unemployment insurance flexibilities<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\"><strong>Submission Guideline<\/strong>: For interested participants, please send a 400 \u2013 500 word abstract via email to yli45@luc.edu with the subject line <strong><u>JRC Spring 2021 Submission<\/u><\/strong>. The deadline for abstract submission is <span style=\"color: #993366\"><strong>Monday, December 28, 2021<\/strong>.<\/span> JRC will notify those who submit abstracts whether their proposal has been accepted for publication within two weeks of receipt of submission. The full article will run 7,000 \u2013 10,000 words.
