Adobe has long been one of the premier providers of audio, video, and graphic editing software. Recently they have made the cloud an essential part of their business strategy, moving most of its services to subscription based platforms. Cyber attackers delivered a major blow to the company yesterday as Adobe announced that an intrusion led to an unknown number of Adobe IDs and passwords be extracted from Adobe’s servers. Adobe also says that information on 2.9 million customers may have been compromised as well. This information includes customer names, encrypted credit and debit card numbers, and expiration dates.
Adobe doesn’t believe that the attackers obtained any decrypted financial information. However, Adobe has stated that it will be notifying customers who it believes may be affected by the breach.
The UISO recommends people with an Adobe ID reset their password and reset the password of online accounts that use the same username and password or email.Tags: Email, Adobe, Hacked, Passwords
