Busy Loyola Days

Busy Loyola Days

It’s just the beginning of a new week, the middle of another Tuesday, but it feels like the days are rolling from one to the next with no breaks or ends. I was happy to have Friday and Saturday as my weekend, but I spent a lot of them doing homework and catching up on my work.

I began my new job at XSport Fitness about a week and a half ago, since then my days have been busy, busy, busy. It’s taken some getting used to, but I’m really enjoying the extra workload because it’s kept me on my feet, and has kept me from slacking off and being lazy. So far, I haven’t fallen behind on anything, I hope to keep this up.

This upcoming weekend is Easter Break, and I’m really looking forward to Friday; I’m going to a concert with my best friend who I haven’t seen in over a month. I’m excited to do some dancing and let go of any stress-filled energy that I have.

In store for this week is an Information Systems quiz that I took an hour ago, and plenty of work hours. Because of Easter Break, two of my night classes have been cancelled, so I decided to take an extra work shift at my new job. It’s going to be a heavy few days, so I’m looking at the concert on Friday as my reward for braving through them.

I also wanted to post some pictures from when I was in Mexico even though some time has past, so here they are:

(Those are people hanging upside down doing a performance around that blue pole- crazy cool!)

(That outfit must have been so hot to walk around in all day)

(This tree’s shape was so different from anything I’ve ever seen in the States, so I had to climb it)

(Starbucks– In Mexico? Not my cup of tea, no pun intended)

Happy Tuesday!

Accio Easter Break!

Accio Easter Break!

One of the perks of going to a Jesuit University is that we get a small break for Easter. As someone who doesn’t celebrate this Christian holiday, Easter break is simply a few extra days for me to relax before the onslaught of finals.

Last year I spent the whole break confined to my bed, alternating between sleeping, eating and watching Doctor Who on Netflix. But this year, I did something a little more exciting…one of my best friends, Rachel, convinced me to head down south and visit her in Miami!

I don't even go here.

It was one of the best trips I’ve taken in a while. We saw “The Hunger Games,” enjoyed an all you can eat sushi buffet (a challenge which we glad accepted) and I watched Rachel play quidditch. She also showed me a stereotypical Miami “study break” by taking me to the beach.

Rockin' our bikinis!

However, the highlight of my vacation was definitely the small road trip we made from Miami to Orlando in order to visit the Islands of Adventure

With my hero!

… and none other than The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

Yes, that is Hogwarts!

I’m not sure what my favorite part was – road tripping for the first time, getting my wand picked out by Ollivander himself (ash with unicorn hair!), tasting butterbeer for the first time, flying with Ron and Harry over Hogwarts or eating at the Three Broomsticks. I don’t think I can explain how amazing it was, except to say that the whole time I was borderline crying from happiness.

Typical picture of me and my borderline crying.

It had been so nice to just get away from everything, but visiting the world of one my favorite childhood books was the icing on the cake to an amazing trip.

Now that we only have about a month left of school, I’m more than glad that I have some warm memories to get me through to May 5th!

I’m in Miami…

I’m in Miami…

…beach!

Well, I’m not there now, but I will be in less than 72 hours! This weekend is Easter Break, so I’m taking the opportunity to get a much needed break from the stress of my semester by visiting my best friend at the University of Miami.

And while I’m extremely excited, I have a lot to do. So I thought that, instead of writing you a super long jealousy-inducing blog post, I would just show you the “to do list” that my biffle and I made last week on Facebook.

Enjoy, and if you can think of anything I should add to the list (I’ll be there from Thursday – Monday), let me know!

The most epic to do list you will ever read
