Words on Admission

Hello, my name is Alex and I'm an Admission Counselor here at Loyola. I'm a Loyola grad myself, and I'm proud to continue my relationship with the University as a staff member in the Undergraduate Admission Office. Most of the students I work with hail from the Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton areas of Ohio, as well as some of Chicago's western 'burbs. I hope you enjoy my blog, which will focus on the admission process and other Loyola topics.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks at Loyola. We opened our awesome new Damen Student Center and started construction to revamp our on student gym, Halas. Around the Country and Back Again

Around the Country and Back Again

October 22nd, 2012

It’s been a long October. I’ve been literally all over the country, visiting high schools and attending college fairs. At one point, I visited three time zones in less than 48 hours. I felt like some world famous rapper on a global tour. But I wasn’t on tour. And I am not a world famous […]

For many, the start of the Fall signals the return of some of the nation’s most popular sports. Specifically college and professional football. I am not one of those many. In fact, I think I’m one of the few. Because, for me, the start of Fall means that basketball season is right around the corner. I follow […]

It’s That Time of Year Again

It’s That Time of Year Again

August 24th, 2012

August is coming to an end. The warmth that has enveloped Chicago the last couple months will flee and we will return those cold winters the city is famous for. While summer turning to fall means colder weather, it also means travel season is approaching for admission counselors around the world. Travel season is when admission counselors […]
