Why Loyola?

Why Loyola?

I applied to many colleges and universities within the city including Northwestern, DePaul, University of Chicago, and St. Xavier because I wanted to commute instead of dorm. Out of all the schools, I wanted to find the one school that I could do well in, had a fantastic pre-med program, and focused on the well-being of the student, physically, mentally, and spiritually. I wanted to feel comfortable at my dream school and feel invited; if I felt content with my school, I would most likely do well academically. Loyola exceeded all my standards. The other prestigious schools I applied to could not top Loyola. Just walking around campus felt right.
What is so special about Loyola? That varies among everyone, but I suppose the key factor that led me to attend Loyola was the numerous amounts of resources available to the students. There are so many offices dedicated to students’ well-being, there are rooms specialized for students of different religions, and more. There are even buildings designated for students to study (Informational Commons) and relax, eat, exercise, and play (Damen). To be at Loyola, things and resources are right there for you to use. It truly is a wonderful benefit to be at Loyola. These resources help me so much because now I have ways to do well academically- I can go study in the Informational Commons, I can go to the tutoring center if I’m having trouble in a subject, and more. The list is endless.
The best way to see if Loyola is the right place to attend is to take a tour of the school. Who knows, Loyola might be the school to go to. And if it is, I especially welcome you proudly.
