NBA Lockout

NBA Lockout

Words cannot explain my excitement in finding out the NBA lockout is finally over.  The players and owners have finally come to an agreement. Took them long enough.

The owners’ won the battle.  I wonder why the player’s would give up so easily. I’m guessing they were tired of sitting around doing nothing for the past few months… as I noticed from twitter, where Kyrie Irving would constantly state how bored he was, and LBJ (can’t even give him the honor of typing out his full name) would write how he’s been traveling for leisure.

The rumor is that there WILL be games played on Christmas day.  I don’t know if I can wait that long… I’ve been going crazy without Cavalier basketball! The highlights of my year last year (ok, a little dramatic) were the Cavs opening the season beating the Celtics, giving everyone hope that we were some amazing team.  NBA followers know that that hope was false, and we ended up with a whopping total of nineteen wins. Not great, but we DID beat the Heat and showed up LeBron for a night, and in my mind, that’s better than winning a large amount of games.

So yeah, we had a rough season last year, but I have been anxious to watch the games because we acquired Duke star player Kyrie Irving.  I don’t really follow college basketball, but I hear he was quite the star player.  I’m hoping he can turn the program around.

I have a good feeling about this season.  You may have heard of the Curse of Cleveland, and how we have had many opportune times to win, but we either mess it up or players walk out on is.  We haven’t won any sports championships since 1964. Well, if not this year, I have a strange feeling that a championship is in the close future.  Sure, I said that the past few years when we went deep in the playoffs, but I feel like with LBJ’s departure (QUITness), the Cavs have the motivation to bring one home for “Believeland.”
