Celebration

Celebration

This past Saturday marked the 10th anniversary of the annual Founder’s Dinner here at Loyola.  A sold-out event, the dinner celebration welcomed administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and Board of Trustee members joining together to honor Loyola community members who have so graciously given of themselves and their time to make remarkable contributions worldwide. We also marked the 10th anniversary of Father Michael Garanzini, S.J., serving as Loyola’s President.

With the East Quad transformed for the night, guests enjoyed dinner, great conversation, dancing outside the Information Commons, and a wonderful program which highlighted the contributions of some outstanding individuals, including a new Zipoli International Scholars program. This program, in honor of Father Garanzini, will provide one deserving student with a full scholarship to study at the John Felice Rome Center for a semester. We also learned that the Partner campaign for Loyola’s future came to a close two years early, bringing in $530 million and exceeding the $500 million goal.

Overall, the Founder’s Dinner was a great event.  The faculty, staff, and students who made up the ensemble choir helped to steal the show with a variety of versions of the alma mater.  Great job!
