“The International Partnership for Queer Youth Resilience”

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada has awarded Dr. Shelley Craig of the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto, a 7-year, $2.5 million Partnership Grant. This partnership – called the International Partnership for Queer Youth Resilience (INQYR) – brings together over fifty academic and community partners from across Canada, the U.S., the United Kingdom and Mexico into four regional networks.

As part of this project, Dr. Michael Dentato is partnering on the implementation of INQYR as co-chair of the U.S. region in collaboration with Dr. Ashley Austin of the School of Social Work at Barry University. Loyola University Chicago MSW/MA student Aces Lira has been hired as a research assistant for the U.S. region. Along with partners across the U.S., they will soon begin a photo elicitation research project with LGBTQ+ youth. For more information on INQYR, please visit: www.inqyr.org
