Career Opportunities for Spring/Summer 2015

Edelman Associate Enrichment Program

The Edelman Associate Enrichment Program is a rotational program that focuses on career exploration and development for entry-level employees in the public relations industry. Program participants spend 18 months rotating through five to six different departments in Edelman’s Chicago office to learn about the business, grow their networks, develop a diverse skill-set and determine a long-term career path at Edelman.

Program Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year college or university graduating with a bachelor’s degree upon completion of the 2015 spring semester.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change with a strong ability to multitask.
  • Minimum of six-months internship experience in the PR industry or related field.
  • Ability to relocate to Chicago.

Weber Shandwick: Healthcare Internship

Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading public relations firms, has an exciting four-month healthcare internship opportunity in our downtown Chicago office. As an intern, you will provide support to team members on multiple consumer health and scientific accounts and will have responsibilities that include: maintaining editorial calendar databases; developing strategic media lists; conducting research utilizing various resources; tracking media coverage; and contacting media to pitch stories on a regular basis. Applicants must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks; have excellent writing and editing skills; be proactive and a self-starter; and be proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs. The internship is full-time and paid. Candidates should have BA or BS in public relations, communications, journalism or a related field, with prior experience or a strong demonstrated interest in the healthcare industry.

Chicago Sun-Times Summer Internship for Minorities

The Chicago Sun-Times is pleased to offer a minority college student or recent minority college graduate the opportunity to spend the summer working at the Chicago Sun-Times. The paid 10-week internship is a wonderful opportunity for budding journalists to experience the hustle and bustle and excitement of a big city newsroom.
