Veterans Documentary Screening

This Veterans Day, the School of Communication (SOC) honors our nation’s veterans with a screening of a powerful documentary that chronicles the lives of military personnel. SOC faculty John C.P Goheen and Aaron Greer directed and produced V-DAY 11.11.11, a feature-length award-winning film.

V-DAY 11.11.11 is a nationwide “day in the life” exploration of what it means to be a veteran in the United States. Award-winning director John C.P Goheen reached out to more than 40 of the nation’s most accomplished visual storytellers asking for their time and talent to donate to this completely non-profit project. Storytellers followed veterans on the momentous November 11, 2011 (11.11.11) Veterans Day for a glimpse into the lives of those who have served our country. The range and perspectives included in the film is broad, as stories date from the Civil War Battle of Pittsburg Landing, captured at the Shiloh National Military Park, to modern day conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The School of Communication will host a screening of the film on Veterans Day: Monday, November 11, 2013 at 7 p.m in the Damen Student Center Cinema at the Lake Shore Campus.
