Tiffany Sharpe joins the SCPS team as Academic Advisor
In July of 2018, Tiffany Sharpe joined the School of Continuing and Professional Studies as Academic Advisor. Tiffany has a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from the University of Mary Washington, and an M.Ed. from Loyola University Chicago. She has worked in the field of customer service and higher education, with employers like The Walt Disney World Resort and GEICO Insurance Company.
Growing up as a military dependent Tiffany spent a lot of time at different Naval and Army bases that gave her a diverse and interesting perspective on people with different cultures and identities. This became the foundation of her career in higher education – because not only does it allow her to work with students, but she also learns more about them as individuals, their journey and their aspirations.
Says Tiffany, “What motivates me is the desire to be the go-to person that students come to for help. Being an educator and working in higher education allows me to connect with students and help them develop not just academically, but on multiple levels of personal and professional development.”
Having pursued her Master’s at Loyola, Tiffany has found her niche and enjoys being able to practice and apply the social justice values that she learned during her education.
“I am inspired every day by the work that adult learners do and their ambition to go for what they want. I’m looking forward to supporting them as they prepare to ‘Go Forth and Set the World on Fire.’”
