Photographing Across Cultural Borders

Join the class and snap your way through two of the most photographic neighborhoods in Chicago: Chinatown and Devon, while capturing the unique culture of each. Instructor Gina Grillo also takes the class to galleries and students will learn how to explore multiple dimensions of cultures through photography. Reviews from previous students show why this course is so popular:

  • “Instructor had a great teaching style where she always focused on the positive and encouraged us to continue to replicate those aspects of our photos.”

  • “Helped me tremendously in developing my photographic skills across the board; good mix of classroom, gallery visits, visiting neighborhoods.”

  • “Very supportive feedback.” [Great use of] “varied content—critique, fieldwork, gallery visits.”

  • “Her attitude about the subject and her role were inspiring!”

  • “Good feedback on photos.”
