Earth Day 2013 volunteer opportunity

The Loyola community will be participating in two Earth Day-centric volunteer opportunities this April, and any member of the LUC family is invited!

Loyola’s North Lake Shore Earth Day 2013 will offer students two opportunities to pitch in. Saturday, April 13th students and local residents will partake in hands-on service projects in Rogers Park to support green efforts in the 49th Ward. The following Saturday, April 20th, Loyola students may join the 48th Ward’s Clean & Green event, and engage in a series of gardening and city beautification projects in the Edgewater community. These exciting projects will range from light gardening and fence-painting, to restoring natural habitats on our lakefront and conducting important research on local residential recycling practices!

Not only will students get a complimentary breakfast on either day (13th and 20th), but all who participate in the service projects will be welcomed to an after-party with delicious food and refreshments at a local restaurant!  For more information on either site or to register for either day’s activities go to http://www.luc.edu/earthday/, and have a great Earth Day!
