Feast for a King

Our visit to our family this week started out with getting them a fruit tart cake, a kind of thank you for being an awesome family. We were wondering if they would like it. Actually, we also got the cake as a sort of dessert to accompany the huge meal that mom promised last time to prepare for us. When we got there, we were kind of shocked because nobody was home except their daughter. We were wondering if they forgot or something! But it turns out they were seeing other family at the time. They came back and their younger son was dressed, suit and all. Then, mom fixed us up a HUGE meal. We had come absolutely starving knowing she promised a huge meal for us. It seems to be a trend, but at least one member of our family is always on the computer when we visit them. This time their older son showed us some pretty hilarious YouTube clips, and we all cracked up as a whole “family.” It made me realize how laughter, above most anything else, has the power to bring people together. It doesn’t matter what it’s about really because we can always find something to bond over. I can’t wait until our next time with them.
