More English Practice

Yesterday Gracie and I went to visit our family.  We basically did homework help and english.  I wish I knew a better way to teach english.  Usually we just go through the Oxford picture dictionary and she will read words or I will say them and she will repeat them.  We have pretty much been doing the same ones every week, and I do not know how to mix it up because it probably gets really boring for her.  Also, I do not know if it is really effective.  She is able to answer some questions.  I asked her what she eats for lunch when we were on the cafeteria page and what she does in gym class and if she likes it.  So, her English is improving, but i think that is more due to the fact that she is in school than from my help.  I haev been trying to think of a game or something, but I don’t really have any ideas for an extreme beginner one.

One problem Gracie and I had was trying to figure out what to do with a field trip form.  The younger girl had a field trip slip that her parents needed to sign, but the mom cannot write her name and the dad was not home, so the older sister wrote her mom’s name down.  I don’t know if thats ok, but I didn’t want her to miss the field trip.  We tried to explain the concept of a field trip to her older sister so she could explain it to her mom.  The dad has not been around for the past few visits, so I wonder if he perhaps has found a job or is doing ESL somewhere.
