PROLAW Journal of Rule of Law for Development

Guidelines for Contributors

The PROLAW Journal is published electronically twice a year on the PROLAW website at LUC.edu/prolaw. We invite the submission of unsolicited articles, essays, and comments, and we review every submission we receive.

Manuscripts should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Please conform text and citations to the Bluebook.  We are unlikely to accept submissions that substantially deviate from Bluebook form.
  • Please provide a cover letter including your name, credentials, school or affiliation, title of your manuscript, and contact details.
  • We encourage but do not require the provision of an abstract.
  • Please review our article length and editing policies before submitting articles to the Journal.

Submissions

We prefer electronic submissions to be emailed to prolawjournal@luc.edu

We also accept submissions at the address below. We regret that manuscripts cannot be returned.

Article Length Policy

The PROLAW Journal has a suggested range of work between 3,000 – 15,000 words, including footnotes; however all submissions that are substantial, scholarly work will be considered.

Editing Policy

Most articles require a modest degree of editing to comply with The Bluebook referencing style. We believe that our authors make their arguments most effectively when they speak in their own voice. With this in mind, our Faculty Director and Article Editors will make every effort to limit proposed changes to those that substantially improve or clarify the author’s argument.
