Loyola University Chicago Conference to Examine Legal and Regulatory Changes
on the 10th Anniversary of the
Collapse of Lehman Brothers

Prominent speakers will include former congressman
Barney Frank,
coauthor of
Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act

Loyola University Chicago’s Institute for Investor Protection will present “Lehman 10 Years Later: Lessons Learned,” to examine the legal and regulatory changes since the Lehman Brothers collapse and financial crisis of 2008. The conference will explore the Eurozone debt, the concept of “too-big-to-jail,” the lawlessness of megabanks, the legal and regulatory changes in the last decade since the failure of Lehman, and whether the system has been made safe for investors and the public. Featured speakers include former congressman Barney Frank, coauthor of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act; Anton Valukas, examiner in the Lehman Brothers Holdings bankruptcy; Jeffrey Cohodes, former chief risk officer of Northern Trust Company; and the Honorable Jed Rakoff, U.S. District judge for the Southern District of New York.

The event, which includes lunch, is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the conference. For more information, visit: https://www.luc.edu/law/events/lehman-lessons-learned/
