Loyola University Chicago to Host Symposium on Politics and Humanitarianism in Syria
Loyola University Chicago is hosting the upcoming ART WORKS Projects symposium, “Sanctuary and Sustenance: Syria and the Plight of the Refugees.”
This day-long symposium will examine the current political crisis in Syria from a range of perspectives and disciplines, including commentary from Loyola and other University scholars and faculty, as well as recent Middle Eastern refugees. The symposium will conclude with the video presentation of Sanctuary & Sustenance: The Story of Many Journeys, a multimedia projection of photography, film, music, and words that traces the journey of a family during the catastrophic events of displacement.
The symposium is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Loyola’s Hank Center for the Catholic Intellectual Heritage at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit LUC.edu/ccih. For more about ART WORKS, visit www.artworksprojects.org/syria-series/.
