MEDIA ALERT
Loyola University Chicago to Host 5th Annual CPR Marathon
What:
Loyola University Chicago Emergency Medical Services (LUCEMS) will host the 5th Annual CPR Marathon on October 19–20, 2013 in an effort to educate and certify the Loyola community.
Beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, LUCEMS will offer Heartsaver CPR classes for non-healthcare professionals, as well as first aid classes. The Heartsaver CPR course will run every two hours until 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 20, while the first aid classes will run every four hours. Classes are free to current Loyola students, faculty, and staff with a valid Loyola ID, and are $35 for non-Loyola community members. Both the Heartsaver CPR and first aid classes are two hours in length.
LUCEMS is a volunteer program at Loyola University Chicago that is staffed by students who are licensed emergency medical technicians or paramedics. They respond to emergency medical calls that occur on the Lake Shore Campus during the fall and spring semesters, while also offering free CPR training to Loyola students, faculty, and staff throughout the school year.
For more information on the CPR Marathon or to register, contact Avani Shukla at lucemscpr@luc.edu.
