Loyola University Chicago’s School of Communication Hosts Journalist Panel on 2012 Presidential Campaign
What:
The increasingly contentious 2012 presidential campaign will be the topic of conversation at the Loyola University Chicago School of Communication’s “Bridging the Great Divide: Partisan Politics, the Press and the Modern Presidential Campaign” panel discussion on Tuesday night. Phil Ponce, professional in residence at Loyola’s School of Communication and Chicago Tonight anchor, along with a panel of distinguished journalists and commentators, will discuss the following:
Panel Topics:
- How relevant are objective media outlets during this campaign?
- Is objective coverage now the exception?
- Is the proliferation of partisan outlets good, bad, or simply a fact of life?
- How have the partisan corners of the media landscape affected the way this presidential campaign is being run?
- To what extent do news consumers sample media venues whose politics differ from their own?
