New Norville Center for Intercollegiate Athletics Set to Open
Dedication Ceremony and Open House Scheduled for March 3
What:
Loyola University Chicago will officially unveil its new Norville Center for Intercollegiate Athletics with a special dedication ceremony on the University’s Lake Shore Campus on Thursday, March 3.
The highly anticipated three-story facility, named in honor of former Loyola basketball star and current Board of Trustee member Allan Norville, along with his wife Alfie, offers a number of modern amenities crucial to the success of a university athletics program, including an improved strength and conditioning center, a sports medicine facility, a student-athlete academic center, spacious locker rooms, student-athlete meeting and activity spaces, and administrative offices for athletics personnel.
The Norville Center is the first of a five-phased, five-year reimagine campaign that launched in January 2010 on the Lake Shore Campus. The overall $100 million investment in student life promises to vastly improve the student experience on campus in a number of ways. The next phase of the campaign is a makeover for the Gentile Center, which includes the installation of stadium seating to create a more comfortable and intimate experience for fans.
