Forum to Assess President Obama’s Mid-Term Performance
“Promises Kept/Promises Broken: The Media’s Mid-Term Assessment of Barack Obama”

Phil Ponce, distinguished professional in residence at Loyola’s School of Communication and host of Chicago Tonight on WTTW-TV, and a panel of journalists and commentators will discuss President Barack Obama’s performance at a free, public forum entitled, “Promises Kept/Promises Broken: The Media’s Mid-Term Assessment of Barack Obama.”

Panelists include:
-Mary Mitchell, columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times
-Paul Green, director of the Institute for Politics, Roosevelt University and political analyst for WGN radio
-Alden Loury, publisher of The Chicago Reporter, an investigative bi-monthly focusing on race and poverty issues in metropolitan Chicago
-Dan Miller, a policy advisor at the Heartland Institute, the Chicago-based free market think tank

The panelists will discuss the president’s accomplishments to date, including the passage of health care reform and the new Wall Street regulations, and they will also take a critical look into his ongoing struggle to improve the economy, end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and reform the country’s immigration policy.

For those who cannot attend, the forum will also be streamed live at www.LUC.edu/soc.
