LUC Seeking Nominees for Family Business Awards
CHICAGO, June 18, 2007 – Loyola University Chicago’s Family Business Center is now seeking nominees for its annual Family Business of the Year Awards, co-sponsored by Harris. The Family Business Center will present awards to companies with a strong commitment to family and to family business. The award categories include: small (companies with fewer than 50 employees), medium (50 to 250), large (more than 250), Community Service, and the Century Award.
This year, the Family Business of the Year Awards celebrate their 14th year of recognizing exemplary family businesses. In addition to business success, those honored with awards will have demonstrated positive family/business linkage, multi-generational family business involvement, contributions to industry and community, and innovative business practices and strategies. Any family-owned business headquartered in Illinois is eligible to win, and anyone may submit a nomination.

All nominations received by July 27 will be considered by a panel of judges composed of professionals from a variety of fields, including family-owned business leaders.
This year’s winners will be honored at an awards gala on Thursday, December 6, 2007, at the Four Seasons Hotel – Chicago. All previous winners and finalists, as well as current members of the Family Business Center, are encouraged to attend. The center anticipates an attendance of more than 300 prominent business professionals from the Chicagoland area.
