Proclamation Coincides with Loyola’s Annual Family Business of the Year Awards Gala

Governor Rod R. Blagojevich has declared Thursday, December 7, 2006 Illinois Family Business of the Year Day in the state of Illinois. The Governor’s proclamation, established November 29, directly corresponds to the 13th annual Illinois Family Business of the Year Awards gala, hosted by the Loyola University Chicago Family Business Center and co-sponsor Harris.
Come celebrate the finest in Illinois family business as we honor the 2006 winners and finalists. With more than 400 nominees for five categories, the awards recognize superior Illinois-based family businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to both business and family.
The 2006 Illinois Family Business of the Year Awardees:
- Small: Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, Inc. (Waukegan)
- Medium: Clarke Mosquito Control (Roselle)
- Large: Turano Baking Company (Berwyn)
- Community Service Award: Gold Eagle Company (Chicago)
- Century Award: Baird & Warner (Chicago)
