2014  Legal Opportunity Scholarship Application

  • Deadline: March 3, 2014
  • The ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship grants 20 incoming diverse law students with $15,000 of financial assistance over the course of their three years in law school.

Sidney B. Williams Scholarship

  • March 14, 2014
  • Law Scholarships are awarded to minority students developing a career in intellectual property law or holding a past or present, full or part-time position in an area related to intellectual property law. The Sidney B. Williams Scholarship is for $10,000 per school year (two semesters, excluding summer school semesters and intersession) beginning with the fall semester and can be renewable. Sponsored by the American Intellectual Property Law Education Foundation.

Thomas F. Black, Jr. Memorial Scholarship of the Rhode Island Bar Foundation

  • Deadline: March 21, 2014
  • For academic year 2014-2015, the Foundation intends to award two awards in the amount of $20,000 each.

Earl Warren Scholarships

  • Deadline: April 30, 2014
  • Generally, Warren Scholarships provide $3,000 annual grants.  All awards may be renewed for each year of law school provided the student continues full-time study, remains in good academic standing with his or her law school, and fulfills all other program requirements.

CBF Abraham Lincoln Marovitz Public Interest Law Scholarship

  • Deadline: Usually in May, please check back
  • Currently a $40,000 scholarship payable over a three-year period, the CBF Marovitz Scholarship enables an incoming student who intends to pursue a career in public interest law to have a significant portion of his or her tuition and related expenses covered by scholarship funding.

Chief Justice Samuel J. Roberts Scholarship

  • Deadline: May 31, 2014
  • Residents of Erie County, Pennsylvania who will be entering their FIRST year at an ABA accredited law school are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Assuming the availability of funds, and provided that the student maintains a satisfactory academic record, the scholarship may be renewed for the student’s second and third years.

Adler Pollock and Sheehan Diversity Scholarship

  • Deadline: June 1, 2014
  • A $10,000 scholarship to be awarded annually to a minority student entering his/her first year of law school.  The scholarship is given to students  with a demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and simultaneous commitment to the community. Students who receive the scholarship are encouraged to participate as a summer intern with AP&S with the hope that they will consider joining the firm upon graduation.

MCCA Lloyd M. Johnson, Jr. Scholarship Program

  • Deadline: around June 1
  • The LMJ Scholarship is a national program that annually grants 15 scholarships of $10,000 to students for their first year of law school.

  • BASIC ELIGIBILITY REOUIREMENTS:

1. Full-time students enrolled at fully accredited U.S. colleges/universities may apply. Seniors at the undergraduate level accepted at an accredited law school (note students deferring acceptance will forfeit any scholarship, but may reapply at a later date);

2. U. S. citizen of Polish heritage or documented legal alien of Polish heritage or affinity;

3. Good academic standing and documented financial need;

4. Student cannot be a member, family member, substantial contributor or a family member of a substantial contributor of the Polish-American Advocates Scholarship Foundation;

5. Student must be a Chicago Metro area resident for at least 4 years prior to application (proof required);

6. Student must be able to attend an interview in late spring/summer and an Awards Presentation Ceremony in the fall of 2014
