Gentile Floor is Done!!
With almost exactly one month until the Loyola Men’s Basketball home opener, the Gentile Arena court is officially complete! The lengthy process of completing the gym floor to almost one whole month to complete. Several stages of flooring included sanding, staining, painting, sanding again, and installing electrical work have left Loyola with a beautiful floor.

Joseph J. Gentile (1924-2011)
Joseph J. Gentile, a Loyola alum, an avid supporter of Rambler athletics, and the namesake of the Gentile Arena, has passed away. Services are pending and more details will be available soon. Alumni Gym Center Court Placement
So what happened with Alumni Gym’s historic gymnasium court? Well much of it was salvaged so that the Athletic Department could sell it to fans, alumni, etc., but the center court was salvaged so that it could be used in the new Gentile Arena.
