Loyola Health Law Alum Named General Counsel of OHIT
The Beazley Institute congratulates Beth LaRocca, JD ’03, who was recently named General Counsel of the Illinois Office of Health Information Technology (OHIT). OHIT was created in 2010 to promote the development of health information technology, increase the adoption and meaningful use of electronic health records, assure the privacy and security of electronic health information, and direct the State’s Health Information Exchange (HIE) implementation efforts. Prior to holding this new position, Ms. LaRocca, who received a Health Law Certificate, served as Legislative Director in the Office of Counsel to the Inspector General at the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. She also previously worked for the Illinois Senate, Ungaretti & Harris, and the American Medical Association.
