LUMA presents an evening with Master Shen-Long

The Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) in partnership with Art Founders presents an evening with Master Shen-Long, a Zen Buddhist master and literati artist (master of the “three perfections” of poetry, painting, and calligraphy) on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at LUMA.

The lecture, titled “Time, Space, Infinity,” will be a discussion of Zen Buddhist philosophical concepts, with emphasis on the human constructions of time and space and its illusory qualities.

Shen-Long has exhibited his work internationally and conducted public talks on many Buddhist scriptures including the Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch Huineng, Heart Sutra, Sutra of Infinite Life, Amitabha Sutra, Essential Annotation on the Amitabha Sutra, Chapter of Chanting Amitabha in Whole Completeness to Become Buddha by the Dashizhi Bodhisattva (Great Strength; Mahasthamanparapta) from the Suramgama Sutra, the Suramgama Sutra, and the Vimalakirti Sutra. His recent publications include The Spirit of the Dragon (2012), Amitabha (2013), and Prajna (2013).

This event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Light refreshments will be served following the lecture. For more information, please visit LUC.edu/luma. To RSVP, email luma@luc.edu or call 312.915.7630.
